Guatemalan Partido Líder (Leader Party) pays for prayers.

In the praying rallies, you usually see that the faithful give alms to their congregations. But this time, the vigil organized by Partido Lider (Leader Party), it’s the opposite. The Barquín and Martinez Lohayza (some of the members of this political party) expect that by paying money to the naïve christians the Leader Party will get enough prayers to protect them from the persecution from The International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG on Spanish, ICAIIG on English). On the picture you see an old woman receiving GTQ 20.00 (about USD 2.50) for being there.

Onomastica Sacra, by Paul de Lagarde

Who is Paul de Lagarde?

Paul Anton de Lagarde (2 November 1827 – 22 December 1891) was a German polymath, biblical scholar and orientalist. He has been cited as one of the greatest orientalists of the 19th century… Lagarde was an active worker in a variety of subjects and languages; but his chief aim, the elucidation of the Bible, was almost always kept in view. Lagarde was easily the most renowned Septuagint scholar of the nineteenth century, and he devoted himself ardently to Oriental studies.
